Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Friday, November 3, 2023: The expert and legal advisor, Dr. Faisal Saeed Al-Hefeiti, said that the celebration of “Flag Day” in the United Arab Emirates on November 3 of each year reflects feelings of unity and peace among the people of the country, and reflects cohesion among them. It raises hope for a bright future for future generations.

Al-Hefeiti added that celebrating national occasions has an influential role in raising motivation and strengthening the nation’s status in the hearts of all citizens, whether men, women or children, and also in their various job positions.

He continued: “The possibility of this day symbolizes the unity of the Emirates, and through it renews the pledges to fulfill the construction process, and work to keep the union strong and prosperous, with the cooperation of all.”

Al-Hefeiti  stressed that the UAE has set ambitious goals to excel in all fields and lead the Arab region towards a better future, and is sparing no effort towards achieving these goals, so the celebration of a day dedicated to science came to become a symbol of renaissance, prosperity, love, peace, science, knowledge and authentic human values.

Faisal Al-Hefeiti stated that the UAE Cabinet paid its attention to the “flag”, and issued a comprehensive procedural and advisory guide on the uses of the state flag, which included a detailed explanation on dealing with the state flag in all circumstances, in a way that unifies its uses, preserves its prestige from tampering, and preserves it as a symbol of the homeland and an emblem for the people. The UAE.

Al-Hefeiti explained that the national occasion is during which the flag is raised on buildings, facilities and institutions as an expression of belonging and loyalty to the homeland and its leadership, in a way that enhances the feeling of belonging to the homeland and consolidates the leading position and bright image of the Emirates, in addition to presenting a creative model of manifestations of cohesion among the people of the homeland.

He believes that the flag charter in the Emirates makes it an emblem of the state above everything that is made in it, what belongs to it, and what expresses it. The flag is the passport of the state and its emblem, and with its presence above official documents and websites and on publications, programs and media, it is proof of national pride and pride in belonging to the homeland. .

Al-Hefeiti stated that the flag was raised for the first time on December 2, 1971, during the UAE National Day celebrations, in which the establishment of the United Arab Emirates was announced.

Faisal Al-Hefeiti pointed out that Federal Law No. 2 of 1971 regarding the Union Flag stipulates: “The flag must be in the shape of a rectangle, its length twice its width, and divided into 4 rectangular sections as follows: The first section: its color is red in the shape of the tip of the flag near the The length of the flagpole is as wide as the flag, and its width is equal to a quarter of the flag’s length. The other three sections complement the rest of the flag and are equal and parallel. The upper section is green, the middle section is white, and the lower section is black. The length of the flag represents three-quarters of the flag’s width, 75%, and the width of the flag is equal to twice its length.
